Humphreys Yacht Designs 100ft Performance Cruising Yacht concept is built on the knowledge gained during the design of the Volvo Open 70 Kosatka for Team Russia. HYD have aimed to create an elegant yacht with the highest levels of comfort, yet uncompromised performance. Twin rudder steering will provide ample control under the large sail plan and combined with a lifting keel, enables access to shallow water cruising grounds. For this project HYD are working alongside Greg Waters at Central Coast Hydraulics and Engineering (CCHE) on the hydraulic lifting keel mechanism as well as automated hydraulic sail control and winch driving systems.
