Elan 450

Design number: 155 Year: 2007

The Elan 450 is a blue water cruising yacht which sets new standards in design and short-handed sailing for this class. The 450 builds on the success of the redesigned Elan performance range which has proved its popularity over decades. The main features of open transom, flush hatches on the coach-roof, open bow pulpit, lines led below deck, long length at waterline, tidy bow, designer’s hull and deck portlights are the special hallmarks of this yacht. The interior is bright and spacious, with a traditional three-cabin layout offering a luxurious owner’s forecabin with large island double berth and generous head department with separate shower stall. Identical aft cabins offer lots of storage and optimal ventilation.

The Elan 450’s ergonomic cockpit is designed for easy movement and her transom can be opened to gain access to the sea. Twin steering wheels and powerful winches are just some of the on-board essentials for fast passage-making. The cockpit table is stored in a dedicated space underneath the cockpit floor, ready to be lifted out for socialising on deck. The 45 also has ample storage, with large cockpit lockers, a recessed area to fit a spray-hood and a compartment for stowing the life raft. Finally, her optional hydraulic driven helmsman seat makes the Elan 450 more comfortable while cruising or moored.
