The Southerly 135 was for many years the flagship of the Southerly range – and remains a highly capable long-distance cruising yacht with variable draught thanks to the swing keel which is the hallmark of this series. Simply by lifting the keel at the touch of a button, the 135 can reach lagoons and harbours at low water that other blue water yachts of a similar size have to pass by.
The Northshore—Humphreys wealth of experience has made this a dream yacht. Any amount of equipment can be added to enhance the owner’s comfort and with the Humphreys design pedigree her sailing performance is assured. The swing keel is combined with the best in hull design and construction to provide a unique blend of performance and versatility. The twin rudder arrangement provides easy handling and excellent sail carrying capacity. The tall rig maximises sail efficiency by taking full advantage of the deep keel when lowered to 2.96m, giving good directional stability and confident windward handling. Halyard and reefing lines are fed back through the coach roof and the self-tailing winches are positioned in the cockpit for immediate access.
The Southerly 135 is a world class cruising yacht capable of fast blue water passage-making, and she can be easily sailed by two people. Her large centre cockpit has ample stowage and has been designed with both safety and comfort in mind. Below decks is a spacious saloon and galley area, two double cabins, two heads and a dedicated, fully-equipped pilot’s workstation.
